Dr. Gurvirender Tejay, Co-Director of the Cyber Security Innovation Research Center, opened the evening with a talk on Cyber Security. Rafail Portnoy, CIO of the MTA gave a fascinating talk on the complexities of the Computer Information Systems at the Long Island Rail Road on how much has been done and how new technologies and updates to the existing systems will make major improvements on the LIRR, the largest commuter rail system in the United States. During dinner, Mr. Portnoy answered many of our questions in great detail. Members, Guests, Faculty from Hofstra and Student Members enjoyed this exciting event.
